Caffe Gusto at St Michael’s Hill

This relaxing coffee shop is situated at the top of St Michael’s Hill in Cotham. Surrounded by university buildings and within walking distance from the Bristol Royal Infirmary, the Gusto cafe has a quiet seating area, a lovely back garden and a wide selection of books to read. The coffee shop boasts a well-stocked deli counter, so your lunchtime treat (whether it be a delicious sandwich or salad) can be made in front you just as you like it!

We offer an extensive menu, so there’s something for everyone! Ranging from a full breakfast menu, served all day, to freshly baked pastries and mouth-watering homemade cakes, as well as a large selection of hot and cold drinks.

The Gusto cafe notice board is always full! It advertises a number of local events and classes, ranging from yoga sessions to music events. We exhibit the work of local artists on the coffee shop’s walls, so if you like some of the artwork in the shop, be sure to ask a team member for the artists details!

Our coffee shop is located in a beautiful, historic part of town. When walking up St Michael’s Hill to Caffe Gusto, take note of the houses that date back to the 18th century. When you reach the top of the hill, you will see a mixture of small local and independent shops, and this is where you will find our lovely coffee shop! This is also the home of the amazing St Michael’s church, which is mentioned in documents as early as the 12th century.

The view from the outside seating area at the front of Caffe Gusto is one not to be missed! This stunning view that looks down St Michael’s Hill outlines Bristol city’s skyline and shows landmark sights, including the spire of the famous St Mary Redcliffe church. If you are lucky enough to see this view at sunset or sunrise, it is truly a magical sight!

Come and join us in this beautiful, historic part of town and enjoy a delicious coffee whilst taking in the views across Bristol!
